The field of computational linguistics deals with both the science behind providing such capabilities and the actual creation of applications which implement them. This course discusses the main natural language processing applications and provides an introduction to the key representations and algorithms used in computational linguistics and to the use of machine learning for NLP tasks. The Programming Systems Lab was founded in 1990 when Gert Smolka came to Saarbrücken as a research director at DFKI. And a Professor in Computer Science. We developed the programming systems Mozart. We also developed constraint-based methods and tools for the syntactic and semantic processing of natural language.
I am a fifth year PhD student in the Computer Science department at UT Austin. My research interests include distributional semantics, grounded word meaning, textual inference and general natural language processing. My advisors are Katrin Erk. På området ligger også et fint lille museum, med en særdeles fortællende guide. Museet er et såkaldt Interfaith museum, og udstillingen er derfor en skønsom blanding af islam, jødedom og kristendom. Interessant, at se forskelle og ligheder mellem de tre store religioner.
